Application and Fees
To begin your registration process, you'll need to pay a non-refundable $100 application fee and an annual registration fee. For new graduates, there is a reduced registration fee for the first two years if you apply by December 31 of your graduation year.
Language Proficiency
You must demonstrate fluency in English or French. Accepted language tests include TOEFL, IELTS, CELPIP, and PTE Core, with specific score requirements for each.
Citizenship Requirements
Only Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or those authorized under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act can register. If you're on a work permit, additional documentation will be required.
Professional Conduct and Health
Applicants must disclose any professional misconduct, incompetence, or incapacity proceedings, as well as any criminal convictions. You must also declare that you have no health conditions that could affect your ability to practice safely.
Academic Qualifications
Ensure your academic qualifications meet the standards set by the College. Transcripts must be sent directly from your academic institution or through approved third-party platforms like MyCreds™ or Parchment.
Practice Currency
If you graduated more than five years ago, you must demonstrate recent practice in social work or social service work. If not, the College may issue a certificate with terms, conditions, and limitations.
Additional Documentation
- Provide personal and business contact information.
- Translate any non-English or non-French documents through accredited translators.
- Consent to the release of information for research purposes, if desired.
Pro-Rated Registration Fees
The registration fee is pro-rated based on the quarter in which your application is approved. For general applicants, fees range from $400 to $100, and for new graduates, from $300 to $75.
