Data Source and Reporting

The data for Indicator 1 comes from all school districts in Kansas, reported to the Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE). The graduation data is collected from local school district exit records, which are entered into the KSDE Kansas Individual Data on Students (KIDS) system. This reporting aligns with the ESEA Title I requirements of the U.S. Department of Education.

Lagged Data Reporting

It's important to note that the reported graduation data are lagged by one year. For instance, for the Federal Fiscal Year (FFY) 2019 reporting, the graduation data from the school year 2018-2019 will be submitted to the U.S. Department of Education. This lag allows for comprehensive data collection and validation, ensuring the accuracy of the reported figures.
