With the growing adoption of teletherapy, it's crucial to stay informed about the latest research and its implications for our practice. The Fall 2014 issue of the International Journal of Telerehabilitation (IJT) presents several studies that offer valuable insights into the efficacy of teletherapy and its applications in various contexts.

One notable study by Steele et al. evaluates the role of teletherapy and online language exercises in the treatment of chronic aphasia. Chronic aphasia is a long-term condition that affects a person's ability to communicate, often following a stroke or other brain injury. Traditional therapy approaches can be limited by geographical and logistical constraints, making teletherapy an attractive alternative. The study found that teletherapy, combined with online language exercises, can significantly improve language outcomes for individuals with chronic aphasia. Implementing these guidelines can help practitioners build trust with their clients and adhere to ethical standards in teletherapy practice.
