What does a typical caseload look like?
Caseloads can vary for direct online therapy. Often Speech-Language Pathologists and Occupational Therapists are licensed in multiple state/provinces in order to serve more students in need of online therapy services. We match school caseloads to therapist availability to create an optimal schedule.
Will I be required to do IEP meetings, assessments, etc?
All contracts have their unique needs and requirements. We manage entire caseloads that include IEP meetings, assessments, direct services, and quarterly reporting. Other times we are supplementing existing school staff with only direct services. Anything you might encounter in an on-site placement you can expect in an online placement.
Do I have to commit to a minimum number of hours per week?
There is no minimum number of hours required per; however, evidence suggests that a minimum of 8-10 hours per week leads to higher confidence, quicker transitions between activities, students and schools, and less reliance on support. Preference will be given to therapists and practitioners who work a greater number hours. You must also have the ability and capacity to adhere to the school schedule week after week to develop a relationship with your assigned students.
Can I still serve my private clients while working with TinyEYE’s caseload?
Yes, you may continue to serve any existing private clients or clients generated through an outside company.
What are the opportunities for growth?
Online services are growing, and so is TinyEYE! We continue to offer opportunities beyond direct client support. These include leadership positions, training roles, and project-based opportunities within TinyEYE. Such opportunities arise occasionally and are aligned with therapists and practitioners who express interest in taking on greater involvement.
How do I get paid?
All therapists and practitioners are paid monthly for the previous calendar month. As a contractor, zero deductions are taken. It is the responsibility of the contractor to manage this.
Do I need liability insurance?
Yes. You will be an independent contractor working with TinyEYE students. Liability insurance is in the best interest of the contractor. There are various options for affordable insurance through your National Organizations (ex. ASHA, SAC, NBCOT, CAOT).
Do I need to be licensed where the students are?
Yes, with very few exceptions. Therapists and practitioners require full and valid licensure in the state/province in which they reside, in addition to where the student is located (if different). TinyEYE service providers are required to maintain their home state/provincial license at their own expense. Through mutual agreement, TinyEYE will cover the cost of additional licensure as needed to serve additional caseloads.
What is the TinyEYE interview process?
Any information included your application will immediately be accessible to our hiring team. Once an opportunity that matches your credentials and availability arises, a team member will contact you by phone or email to schedule an interview, which will be conducted via video. The interview will last approximately 30 minutes.
What training will I receive with TinyEYE?
Access will be provided to the TinyEYE Academy for self-directed training that includes reading, videos and assignments. Once complete, there will be an invitation to attend a webinar with an experienced TinyEYE practitioner to address any specific questions.
What kind of support will I get as a TinyEYE Therapist?
TinyEYE offers ongoing support and mentorship throughout your journey. You will have access to the TinyEYE Academy to review training materials and we have a team of Clinical Mentors should you require additional support or guidance.
What hardware do I need to get started?
You will need a high-speed internet connection, computer with webcam, and a headset with attached microphone. OTs may require an external camera.
Is there any start-up cost?
Depending on your current setup, there may be minimal start-up costs, such as upgrading internet speed for optimal performance or acquiring specific hardware. These costs are typically manageable and ensure a seamless teletherapy experience. For more details, please refer to ‘What hardware do I need to get started?’ and/or ‘Do I need liability insurance?’
