Are you a Speech-Language Pathologist or Audiologist looking to renew your license in Wyoming? The process might seem daunting, but we're here to break it down for you! Here's everything you need to know about the application instructions for relicensure.
Application
First things first, you need to submit a complete, original signed application. Keep in mind that faxed, emailed, and incomplete applications will not be accepted. Make sure you have all your paperwork in order before sending it in!
Fees
The application fee is $300.00 per license type. This fee must be paid via personal/business check, cashier's check, or money order, made payable to the State of Wyoming. Unfortunately, the fees are non-refundable, so double-check everything before you send it off.
Federal Requirements for Licensing Boards
According to the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS), you need to provide proof of lawful presence. This can be done by completing the form included in your application packet and providing a copy of a document from LIST A or a document from LIST B and C.
Competency
To prove your competency, you have two options:
- ASHA or ABA Certification: Contact ASHA or ABA and request that your certification be mailed directly to the Board office. The Board will not accept this verification from you or through your hands in any way.
- PRAXIS Exam and CEU: Pass the PRAXIS exam within the last five years and request your scores to be sent directly to the Wyoming Board office. Additionally, you must submit proof of twelve (12) CEU for each year or portion thereof that the license was expired, up to a maximum of one hundred and twenty (120) CEUs.
Background Checks
If you haven't completed a background check with the Board before, now is the time to do it. You will need to provide a set of completed fingerprint cards for a criminal history record background check. Allow for a minimum of 2-3 weeks for the background check report to be processed and returned to the office.
Relicensure can seem like a complicated process, but by following these steps, you'll be well on your way to renewing your license and continuing your valuable work as a Speech-Language Pathologist or Audiologist.
