Understanding Hate Speech in Schools: A Data-Driven Approach for Practitioners

Hate speech in schools is a pressing issue that affects the social and emotional well-being of students. The recent study titled "Playing by the Rules? An Investigation of the Relationship Between Social Norms and Adolescents’ Hate Speech Perpetration in Schools" sheds light on the intricate dynamics of hate speech among adolescents. This blog explores the study's findings and offers actionable insights for practitioners aiming to foster safer school environments.

The study underscores the need for continued research into the social dynamics of hate speech. Practitioners are encouraged to collaborate with researchers to explore additional factors influencing hate speech and to evaluate the effectiveness of intervention strategies.

For a deeper understanding of the study's findings and methodology, practitioners are invited to read the original research paper: Playing by the Rules? An Investigation of the Relationship Between Social Norms and Adolescents’ Hate Speech Perpetration in Schools.
