Application Process for Licensure
All applicants for licensure must submit a complete, signed application. Incomplete applications will remain on file for one year. If all required documents are not received before the application expires, you must reapply.
Proof of Lawful Presence
The U.S. Naturalization and Immigration Service (INS) has developed a list of acceptable documentation as proof of lawful presence. Please complete the form included in your application packet and provide a copy of a document from List A or a document from List B and List C.
Criminal Background Check
In accordance with Wyoming Statute 7-19-201(a)(xxxi), all psychologist applicants must submit fingerprint cards for state and national criminal history record information. The cards will be mailed to the applicant upon receipt of the application by the Board Office or can be obtained from any law enforcement agency. See instructions on page 2 of the application packet.

- Psychology Licensure Application Fee: $275.00
- Criminal Background Check Fee: $39.00
- Initial Licensure Fee: See Chapter 9 of the Rules & Regulations for Pro-rated Amount
All fees are non-refundable and shall be payable to the State of Wyoming in the exact amount. Please do not send cash.
Additional Requirements for Examination or Endorsement Applicants
If you are applying by examination or endorsement with less than five years of practice, you must also submit the following:
Transcripts
Official transcripts with degree conferred must be forwarded to the Board Office directly from the registrar of the college/university, giving evidence of completion of a doctoral degree program in psychology accredited by the APA Commission on Accreditation (CoA) or meeting the criteria listed in Chapter 5, Section 2 of the Rules & Regulations.
Experience
You must have completed 3,000 hours of supervised professional experience related to the practice of psychology. This includes a pre-doctoral internship program accredited by the APA Commission on Accreditation or a member of the Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers (APPIC) or documented equivalent experience. Additional supervised professional experience may be accumulated from pre-internship or post-doctoral training. See Chapter 5, Section 4 for more information.
Exam Applicants
You must register for the EPPP. Upon receipt of a complete application and required documentation, the Wyoming Board of Psychology will make you eligible to test. For information and instruction regarding this process, visit this link.
Endorsement Applicants
You must request that your EPPP score be transferred to Wyoming. For information and instruction regarding this process, visit this link.
Verification of license/certificate in good standing is required from all jurisdictions in which you are currently, or have ever been, licensed/certified. Verifications must come directly from the jurisdiction and will not be accepted from the applicant.
Criminal Background Check Instructions
In accordance with Wyoming Statutes, the Wyoming State Board of Psychology is required to perform criminal background checks before issuing psychology, psychological practitioner, or specialist in school psychology licenses. Failure to follow the instructions below will delay processing:
- Complete and submit two blue fingerprint cards, both hands on each card. You can obtain the cards by contacting the Board office or your local law enforcement agency.
- Use black ink only.
- Only a law enforcement officer or other authorized person may perform the fingerprint procedure.
- All yellow highlighted areas in the attached example must be completed by the applicant.
- The official taking the fingerprints must sign the cards.
- Fingerprints must be fully rolled with no smudges. Not fully rolled or smudged prints will be rejected, and the applicant will be required to submit new cards.
- Do not fold the cards.
- Include the cards with your application packet.
