STEP 1: Read the Application Guide for Canadian Accredited Programs
Before diving into the application process, it’s crucial to thoroughly read the Application Guide provided by the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO). This guide contains essential information about the requirements and steps involved in the registration process.
STEP 2a: Access the Registrant Portal to Begin Your Online Application
Once you’ve familiarized yourself with the application guide, the next step is to access the Registrant Portal on the CASLPO website. Here, you can begin your online application for registration.
STEP 2b: Special Instructions for Recent Graduates
- If you graduated from an Accredited Canadian Program in audiology or speech-language pathology less than one year ago, you are not required to apply for registration with CASLPO before enrolling for the CETP Exam. Instead, you can enroll for the CETP Exam directly on the Speech Language and Audiology Canada (SAC) website during their enrollment period. Visit SAC’s website for more details.
- If more than a year has passed since your graduation, you must submit an online application to CASLPO at least eight weeks before the exam date. CASLPO will review your application to verify your eligibility to enroll for the CETP Exam. If you qualify, CASLPO will inform SAC’s Exam Manager of your eligibility at least 20 days before the exam.
STEP 3: Check for an Email from CASLPO
After submitting your application, CASLPO will send you an email confirming receipt of your application and informing you of any outstanding documents. This email should arrive within 15 days of CASLPO receiving your application form.
STEP 4: Application Review Process
The review process for your application will not begin until CASLPO has received a complete application, including all required documents. The review and assessment of an application from a graduate of an Accredited Canadian Program will take approximately 5 days to complete.
If you are deemed eligible for registration, CASLPO will send you a Registration Form via email. If a deficiency is found in your application, CASLPO will inform you via email and provide information regarding the next steps.
STEP 5: Submit Your Registration Form
After submitting a complete Registration Form and the accompanying documents to CASLPO, the College will confirm your registration by email. This confirmation should arrive within up to 10 days after CASLPO has received your Registration Form. You are not considered registered until you have received written confirmation of registration from the College and have been assigned a registration number.
